The Museum of Fine Arts of Lyon presents May 19, 2021 to February 27, 2022 the exhibition "Par le feu, la couleur". Dedicated to the arts of fire that are ceramics and glass, the exhibition traces the evolution of these means of artistic expression, from 1960 to 2020. It highlights recent donations, supplemented by a few loans, highlighting the fact that the collection of post-WWII ceramics at the Museum of Fine Arts of Lyon is made up exclusively of donations.

The exhibition is divided into three parts: “Mineral sculpture”, “Pictorial ceramics” and “The meeting of the unexpected”. It is organized by Salima Hellal, chief curator in charge of the museum’s objects of art, assisted by Marion Falaise, project and research officer in the same department.

Jean-Philippe Racca-Vammerisse exhibits pieces from the Des*Astres series which had been published in Dark night of the soul on the occasion of the exhibition organized in 2018 by Le Fil Rouge in Roubaix. We find alongside him artists such as Pierre Baey, Jean-François Fouilhoux, Haguiko, Hervé Rousseau, Bernard Dejonghe, Marc Alberghina, Claude Champy, Isabelle Monod, Patrick Crulis, Jean-Pierre Viot, as well as as American artists Patrick Loughran, Nick Weddell and Ray Barsante.
