Jérémy Liron. Face mer is the catalog published for the “MU” exhibition at Galerie Eric Linard in La Garde Adhémar (FR) from May 4 to July 2, 2024 and at Galerie Isabelle Gounod in Paris (FR) from May 16 to July 13, 2024. It includes a text by François Bon.

Born in Marseille in 1980, Jérémy Liron lives and works in Lyon. A graduate of the École des Beaux-Arts in Toulon, then of the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris, Jérémy Liron holds a degree in plastic arts, and combines a career as an artist, writer and teacher. Jérémy Liron's work is a painting of silence, with a powerful architectural composition. The modernist architectures, surrounded by lush, green vegetation and set against a blue sky, are the result of a sensitive, mini-male geometric composition in which subtle plays of light play. These idyllic-looking Landscapes are the result of wanderings and walks by the artist, who surveys, collects and recomposes a fictitious reality.

"When I discovered these sea blues (and what a long and recent, cruel history too, that of pigments to represent the blue of the sky and that of the sea), with prickly pear trees in the background, I had to take a step back. In the exhibition rooms, and in the photos that testified to this, the canvases, assembled in diptychs or triptychs, with their musicality of format, organized wanderings that transformed the place itself into Liron's canvas. After all, the history of an artist, his canvases or his words, is the history of his phases and variations". (François Bon)

Born in Luçon in 1953, François Bon is a French writer, editor and translator. After studying engineering at ENSAM, he worked in industry for several years before publishing his first novel, Sortie d'usine, with Éditions de Minuit in 1982. Accepted at the Villa Médicis in 1984, he has since devoted himself to literature (books, radio, theater, films, writing workshops, translation). Since then, he has published over twenty novels, and contributed to over twenty exhibition catalogs. He has also translated Berit Ellingsen, Ambrose Bierce, Lovecraft and Herman Melville from English. His work has received numerous distinctions, including the Prix Paul Vaillant-Couturier in 1992, the Prix Télérama in 1993, the Prix France Culture in 2000 and the Prix Wepler in 2004.
