"Based in France for the past twenty years, Nazanin Pouyandeh draws her inspiration from the history of art, referring in turn to Gustave Courbet, Jerome Bosch, Hans Memling or Andrea Mantegna. Painting is a history without breaks, she continues. I paint the present world, but the same themes always come back: violence, fear, survival instinct, spirituality, desire...'" (Guillaume Morel)
