Une nuit à la Havane is an original book imagined by Thomas Henriot. It is a tribute to Reinaldo Arenas, whom he discovers and overwhelms him with the film by Julian Schnabel "Before Night". It is a return to the places where the Cuban author lived in Havana.
Thomas Henriot (born in 1980) is a French artist living and working between France and Cuba. Drawing in Indian ink is the technique he favors and deepens with traditional Chinese painters during a stay in mainland China in the early 2000s.
Anne-Cécile Sanchez began her career as a journalist at L’Événement du Jeudi, then at Le Point. She has published a guide to Paris (Paris Confidentiel, Éditions Assouline) and has been responsible, as deputy editor-in-chief, of the culture and travel pages of Marie-Claire Maison. A regular contributor to the Journal des Arts and the Eye magazine since 2017, she covers news from galleries and fairs, carries out surveys, reviews of exhibitions, reports and portraits. She met Thomas Henriot in 2014, and since then has followed his work with attention, sensitive to his commitment and his approach as much as to the dark depth of his sumptuous Indian ink drawings.
