Alexandre Carin. Solariser l'envol is the catalog published for the exhibition “Solariser l'envol” at Galerie Odile Ouizeman in Paris (FR) from April 18 to June 1, 2024. It includes an introduction by Christèle Dedebant and a text by Roxana Azimi.
Alexandre Carin's painting comes after a background in science, philosophy and poetry, to complement his research into capturing the image at the moment when time dilates, when presence is uncertain. Of Persian origin, he draws his poetic gestures from Persian calligraphy. Distortions invade the image to satisfy his need to reach out to a wider perception, going so far as to give a musicality to his gestures. For Alexandre Carin, liquefaction enriches perception, and something imperceptible can become visible.
"Alexandre Carin fully claims to be an easel painter. He loves its kitchen secrets and the smell of turpentine, the sensuality of oil, a bulwark in a world that makes programmed obsolescence its raison d'être. When asked how he fell into painting, the young Franco-Iranian replies, with a touch of coquetry: “out of politeness”. (Roxana Azimi)
