The exhibition and its catalogue trace the entirety of Leonardo Cremonini's career between France and Italy, spanning the years 1945 to 2010. This is the most significant publication devoted to the artist's work in almost forty years, featuring an essay by Dominique Fernandez together with substantial scholarly studies by the art historians Lydia Harambourg and Tancrède Hertzog, curators of the exhibition.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003c\/div\u003e\n\n\u003cdiv id=\"tab-2\"\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe Italian painter Leonardo Cremonini (1925–2010) studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Bologna before continuing his training at the Brera Academy in Milan during the 1940s. In 1950 he settled in Venice, where he came to the attention of Peggy Guggenheim, who provided him with a studio. During the 1950s he was awarded a grant enabling him to move to Paris. In the 1980s he taught at the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris before being elected to the Académie des Beaux-Arts. Major museum retrospectives of his work have been presented in Paris, Tokyo, New York, Prague, Basel, Brussels, Athens and Milan. He has been awarded both the Prix Durchon-Louvet and the Prix Médicis.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003cp\u003eLydia Harambourg, born in 1947, is a French art historian, art critic, author and exhibition curator. Since 2006 she has been a corresponding member of the Académie des Beaux-Arts of the Institut de France in the Painting section. Her publications focus primarily on nineteenth- and twentieth-century painting. She is the recipient of the Prix Paul-Marmottan and the Prix Thorlet.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003cp\u003eTancrède Hertzog, born in 1991, is an art historian, gallerist and journalist. He studied art history at the École du Louvre, the Sorbonne and the École Pratique des Hautes Études.
