JonOne : La tentation du décor is the catalog published for JonOne's solo exhibition at La Piscine - Musée d'art et d'industrie André Diligent in Roubaix (FR) from June 24 to September 3, 2023. It includes a preface by Bruno Gaudichon and a text by Christian Omodeo.

John Andrew Perello aka JonOne was born in 1963 in New York. He began graffiti in the late 70s, writing his name around the city and on subway trains. "What really got me into tagging was seeing other people painting graffiti all over the city".
It was around this time that he met A-One, who used to hang out with Jean-Michel Basquiat. "A-one was the link between the street and the art world. He'd travel around Europe and come back with a lot of money, simply because of his art. I'd listen to his travel tales and my eyes would sparkle with envy," he continues.
His masters are Miró, Kandinsky, Matisse, and the American abstract expressionists Pollock, de Kooning, Joan Mitchell and Robert Motherwell. JonOne describes himself as an "abstract expressionist graffiti painter". His work has been the subject of over a hundred solo exhibitions worldwide since the 1990s.

Born in 1956, Bruno Gaudichon is Head Curator of Heritage, has a PhD in the history of modern and contemporary art (Paris Ouest-Nanterre), and is a specialist in modern sculpture in general and Camille Claudel in particular. Curator at the Musée de Poitiers from 1988, he has been director of La Piscine - Musée d'art et d'industrie André Diligent de Roubaix since its prefiguration in 1990, then its opening in 2001.
