The catalog Différent parfois. Libre toujours documents artist Marlène Mocquet's solo exhibition at the Fondation GGL in Montpellier, which runs from October 27, 2023 to April 27, 2024. It includes a preface by Alain Guiraudon, followed by texts by Camille Palos and Alba Sagols.

Marlène Mocquet was born in Maison-Alfort in 1979. She lives and works in Paris. She graduated with honors from the École Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts de Paris. One of her first admirers was Christian Lacroix, who offered her a window display in his boutique on Place Saint-Sulpice in Paris. Since 2007, he has had several solo exhibitions in galleries such as Haunch of Venison and Freight + Volume Gallery in New York, Alain Gutharc and Laurent Godin in Paris and Galerie de la Béraudière in Brussels. Her work has also been the subject of monographic exhibitions in numerous French institutions, including the Galerie Edouard Manet in Gennevilliers in 2008, the Musée d'art contemporain de la ville de Lyon in 2009, the Musée de l'Abbaye de Sainte-Croix in Les Sables d'Olonne in 2012, and the Maison des Arts in Malakoff in 2013, where she exhibited for the first time the sculptures created during her residency at the Manufacture de Sèvres. In 2017, she repeated the experience at the Musée de la Chasse et de la Nature in an immersive exhibition, a character that is now to become a leitmotif in the way she wishes to present her work, then in 2022 at the Musée Déchelette in Roanne.

Camille Palos is artistic director of the GGL Corporate Foundation.

Born in Toulouse in 1991, Alba Sagols is a visual artist who lives and works in Montpellier.
