The catalog Nazanin Pouyandeh. Transfiguration documents the artist's exhibition at the Julio Gonzalez municipal gallery in Arcueil, which runs from November 18, 2022 to January 7, 2023, and his exhibition at the Sator gallery, which runs from November 6, 2022 to January 6, 2023. "Based in France for the past twenty years, Nazanin Pouyandeh draws her inspiration from the history of art, referring in turn to Gustave Courbet, Jerome Bosch, Hans Memling or Andrea Mantegna. Painting is a history without breaks, she continues. I paint the present world, but the same themes always come back: violence, fear, survival instinct, spirituality, desire...'" (Guillaume Morel)

Nazanin Pouyandeh was born in 1981 in Tehran. She has been living and working in the Paris region for over twenty years. She is a graduate of the École Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts de Paris and holds a master's degree in Fine Arts from the Université Paris I - Panthéon-Sorbonne. Since 2004, her work has been the subject of some twenty solo exhibitions in France and abroad, notably at the Michael Schultz Gallery in Berlin, the Eric Mircher Gallery in Paris, the Sator Gallery in Paris, the Centre d'Art Contemporain de Meymac (FR), the Aaran Gallery in Tehran and the Städtisches Museum in Engen (DE).
